Pastor Kampomo met with the girls in Pangeti after the last set of parents resigned in March and returned to their home in Blantyre. The girls were understandably insecure about 5 sets of parents have experienced in almost 5 years. They expressed fear about couples coming and going with no continuity. This was not helping their need for stability. Prince asked who they wanted as parents based on the previous 5 couples. They were unanimous that they wanted Mr. and Mrs. Chilemba. They felt she was the best mother. Pastor Kampomo secretly recorded the girls voices as they individually explained why they wanted the Chilemba’s back as parents. Prince indicated the girls were very emotional as they spoke.
Pastor Kampomo then returned to Blantyre and met with the Chilemba’s at their home. The pastor explained the situation and indicated that girls wanted them back. Then played the audio recording of the girls explaining why they wanted Mrs. Chilemba back as their mother. Mr. & Mrs. Chilemba cried as they heard the voices. Mrs. Chilemba immediately said, “They need us. We will go back”.
The Chilemba’s returned to Pangeti several days later. There was a big welcome from the girls with tears of joy expressed by all both parties.
